Metairie care package drive & snow fun

by Greta on December 23, 2007

After action report: The day in the snow was successful and the amount of items donated was overwhelming. I thought I was going to need a U-Haul to get it home! All we need from you is a donation, no matter how small, to help cover the shipping costs!

Here is the press release for the event. In a nutshell, on Sunday the 23rd in Metairie, there will be a Christmas celebration that will be done in conjunction with supporting the troops. There will be enough snow trucked in for a day of snowball making fun, food, singing and fun. The church has reached out through Soldiers’ Angels and the Louisiana Guard units to welcome military families to come enjoy this event. There will also be a community care package drive going on at the same time (great time to come out and volunteer old and new ANGELS). The items collected during this celebration from 10AM until the snow melts, will be sent as after-Christmas pick me-ups. See you there and please spread the word!
